in true megan fashion, since we did vegas AND a surprise dinner for whit, i had to do a surprise party for mindy :) we had dinner at chili's with friends and co workers and then we went to a bar in SLC called gracie's. it's by far our favorite bar! i have known mindy for 5 years. she used to be my supervisor when i worked as a supervisor in slc. we have been through A LOT together and i do not know where i would be without her.

Our bosses got a suite to the jazz game for all upper management. it was SO much fun! They invited all area directors, the coordinators (mindy and I), HR director and all significant others. It was nice to have a little date night and be with friends. the game was a blowout, so it wasn't much of a game. I LOVE the people i work with and our bosses and the company we work for are AMAZING!!

The saturday before labor day, my dad, jake and i all went up to payson lake to go fishing. it was FREEZING cold and rainy, but we had a lot of fun and it was nice to spend some alone time with them.

The Ranch

Growing up i thought this was the coolest thing ever. I always wanted to show my friends at school... we called it "Grandpa Fred's Zebra Truck :)"

The ranch has been our family (my dad's dad's side...) since my dad was young. When my great grandma lyman died a few years back, the consensus was to sell it. My grandpa has been staying there until everything is finalized and he is getting ready to move everything to New Mexico. I have always loved spending time up there, being around all of the horses, and the memories that i have at the ranch are uncountable and priceless. I am very lucky to have had this experience in my life. Breaks my heart to know that it won't be around for my kids some day, and that all the family gatherings have stopped, but it will be fun to be able to visit my grandpa in new mexico!

Our horses are the best! They all have their own personalities but are incredibly loveable.

I wonder how long this barn has been around :)

Well ladies and gentlemen, some of us never thought we would see the day that Taylor Grant Lyman would graduate, but it's official, he did and we couldn't be prouder. It was a bittersweet day, i was happy because he was finally done, but that means no more football, and that in less than a year he will be gone for two... i think that will be the hardest part of it all!! But we are all greatful we don't have to sit through another graduation!!!

Well my hard work and dedication to the Gold's Gym company keeps itself paying off... as of January 1, 2009 we are taking over our personal training department (currently professional fitness) and i will be the PT coordinator for all of Utah. I will be helping the vp of sales and the director of PT... hiring, recruiting, systems implementation etc. Anyway, i am really really REALLY excited for this opportunity that they have given me... i'm ready to bust my butt and show them even more of what i am made of...

Well simply because my brothers didn't get many presents... read on to find out why...Christmas day at the lyman household is always super exciting!! Taylor likes to get everyone up really early (even this year when he and jake didn't get many presents... because of the debts they owed my parents... suckers ha ha...) we all look so excited don't we?

I was a small-town girl.
Aside from the ridiculous green beret and homely green jumper, signing me up for Girl Scouts was the best decision Mom made for her fifth-grade daughter. I already knew how to build a campfire, and selling cookies wasn't the highlight of my year -- it was the field trip to the radio station that thrilled my little eleven-year-old heart.
There it was, five thousand watts of crystal-clear power...it was a daytime-only radio station, the voice of our town.
One look into that studio and I was hooked. I begged them to let me take home the unused news copy from the AP wire. I hung it up on my wall like a rock-star poster. I got a tape recorder and practiced doing newscasts, writing exciting stories of neighborhood gossip. I practiced my commercials, imitating TV ads for Miss Clairol.
In the seventh grade, I entered a speech contest and won three of the four categories. The judges were the owners of that radio station.
Within a week of winning the speech contest I had my first on-air job: "Delilah, on the Warpath," school news and sports, taped weekly.
By the time I was in high school I had worked into a full-time part-time position at the radio station. I wrote afternoon newscasts, wrote and produced commercials. I took the empty soda pop bottles back for the refund. Six days a week I was at the station. Six days a week I was happy!
It's been over 25 years, and fourteen stations since Mrs. Davis's Girl Scout troop walked through the doors of that first radio station. Today, my show isn't on a five-thousand watt daytime AM station, but the thrill of the microphone hasn't disappeared. Radio is still my first love.

I mean look at what she wrote about herself number 1, and number 2, she asks callers to call in and tell their stories or whatever, but then she turns it around on herself and tells her stories. Well NEWS FLASH DELILAH... no one cares!!!! Stop making your show all about you!!

Ok so i am going to a fraternity formal on friday (dustin and i will be the ONLY sober ones there so this should be interesting...). unfortunately it's not a dressy enough event for me to wear my prom dress again.. i was extremely disappointed as i am sure that you all are since you won't get to see me in it again...so i decided that i better go find myself a "cocktail looking" dress to wear. i enlisted the help of my stylish friends from work, kacie and whitney, and this is what we found... now mind you, these are REAL clothes from REAL stores....

to start off our adventure we journied into express... we found this lovely cheetah print jacket and these awesome sequined pants... they were more like leggings... oh and the lovely blue cocktail dress you see in the background.. can anyone say romy and michelle's highschool reunion??

next was this lovely granny looking sweater and the dead flower skirt we found... i figured the shirt wasn't working so i better make it work and turned it into a belly shirt.... notice to the right, there is a sequined vest to match the sequined pants... yeah you know you like it!

THRILLER!!!!!!

I went to THRILLER for my first time last october and absolutely loved it! i talked my friend ryan into going with me this year... so i headed down to st george and went to tuachan theater on halloween... it is amazing to me the way these people can dance, makes me wish i wouldn't have been a quitter because of itchy costumes when i was little... ha ha...they had a couple of dances taken out this year, the scarecrow one was gone which was one of the best! but it was a lot of fun, not too cold at all, and we had the best golden nugget popcorn EVER!! if you have never tried it you probably should.... mmmmmm

i went to the jason mraz concert with my friend maguet and his roommate steve-0... yeah don't worry that they guy they bought tickets from (off of ksl) had purchased not only our tickets but 21 others with a credit card he had stolen... so when we got to the concert we had to fill out statements with the police so they could try to catch the guy... then they ended up buying more tickets so we could actually go to the concert... thanks maguet and steve, you rock!!

It's so sad that football season is coming to an end. Taylor does an awesome job and his love for the sport is amazing. he is so good at what he does and loves to HIT!!! we are definitely going to miss seeing him play....

Tayman is tiny compared to most of his team, but he definitely has more spirit and umph than most of them for sure. the guys he was up against this week was huge and pummeled taylor and he was down for the count for a minute and now has an awesome gouge on his head now. battle wounds guys, battle wounds.
they also had senior night since it was their last "season" game. they recognized all the senior cheerleaders, accadians (drill team), and football players. all the players' parents got to go on the field after the game and get recognized and have their pictures taken with their sons. after the game they had a bbq for the players and their families, and then the boys all camped out on the football field. what an awesome end to a season (even though we lost...) playoff game Friday at 3pm... good luck brighton!! tayman: i hope you know how much we love you and how proud we are of you... you are our amazing little football player who has grown into an awesome young man. love you bud.

FOOTBALL... and it's getting cold!!!!

I was so excited for the football game on friday night and for my friend ryan to be in town and be able to come with us. However i was not looking forward to the dramatic temperature drop. i had a long sleeved shirt on and a tank top, a hoodie and then my awesome gold's gym jacket that is super comfortable (one of my bosses gave it to me last year), pants and boots. Along with 3 blankets to bundle up in and snuggled between ryan and jake. we played jordan, and lost :(, but it was a good game and we got some fun pics while we were bored....

So jordan and TTT are in their new place... i miss them... and they miss me of course... i still bug them constantly, they have keys to the house and come to do their laundry too.. they told me i was going to get a key, but i have yet to see that happen... i went over on sunday after the work meeting i had been setting up for all day and took them some pizza, ryan was playing hairdresser and dying jordan's hair.... it was pretty exciting....

So he went to stupid super cuts or whatever and they butched his hair... he looked real funny and had to come up with a cool nickname so he came up with Tommy Too Tough... well jordan and i started calling him TTT for short... and we were bored one night and decided to make him an awesome shirt... pictured below is the result (oh and to make it even more white trash we spelled it TUFF)And so TTT was born....

This year taylor is a senior... and he is now playing defensive receiver...he is doing a really good job...their team is having a hard time this year... but we will keep going and supporting... it's sad this year because it's tay's last year playing... but we are going to be "super family" you know, like super seniors, and keep going... told my dad once i start having boys they will play too so he can get his fix that way...

i drug my friend brandon along to the game... he had fun... even though you can't tell by the expression on his face...

LABOR DAY!!!

Every year for labor day we pack up and head down to payson for the "onion days" celebration. growing up we always stayed at gg ruby's house, which conveniently when she passed marshall and sabrina bought and the tradition continues (not sure if that's lucky for them or not :)....) Sunday night we all walk down to the park for the grand band concert.... we weren't sure how this year was going to play out because they weather started to get really crummy... really fast....

i got wrangled in to taking elle and caden to the carnival at first everything was fine and dandy...

and then it started pouring...i grabbed caden and threw him on my back, threw our hoods on, had elle carry my flip flops so they wouldn't break and we hauled it through the park to find their dad and grandpa huttled under a jacket with my dad... mind you that their dad and grandpa are like 6'4 and over 300 pounds... i was soaked and we ran back up to alan and lori's house.

the annual guys golf game was cancelled labor day morning due to inclement and FREEZING weather... they played poker instead and uncle shawn won a gold manicure set... sucker..

evan's mom told him he couldnt have any until ater lunch... he found some on the ground and ate it anyway...

this is the first year we have had to really bundle up to watch the parade... don't dad and jake look so excited.
it was bound to happen... the first rain at "onion days" in 100 years....
the parade continued.. and that guy running towards us just saved a bunch of money by switching to geico!!!

even though it was raining and FREEZING cold... labor day was a blast... a little different without the rides, the football game and hanging out outside... but i love being with my family and getting to see the ones that i rarely get to.

Cousin's Dinner.....

Every year the Wilson brothers and sisters get together for a dinner.. so a couple years ago, Neeley and Ryan started a "cousin's dinner" at their house... so all the kids, grandkids etc all get together and we have a BBQ and watch a movie on the projector...i love seeing everyone... and playing with all the kids!! This year the weather wasn't that great and towards the end, the movie screen blew over on top of poor shae....

Evan and Ava!!!!

Evan and Ava (my cousins from Seattle) are here again and i'm so excited. I hate not being able to see them on a consistent basis...i cannot believe how big they are getting. Ava just turned one, and Evan turned 5. He is starting Kindergarten this year... I cannot believe how tall Evan is and how much Ava has grown since last September (look at our family pictures, doesn't even seem like the same baby!!!) She has a full head of hair, and talks a lot but her favorite word to say is Beijing (just in time for the olympics!!) Ok, so she's not saying Beijing but it sure sounds like it...

Of course while taking pictures i have to sneak one of myself in there!

Evan is obsessed with Star Wars.. he made grandma be Chewbaca but she said that was fine as long as she didn't have to be Java the Hutt (or however the heck you spell his name)

6 Months and 54 Pounds!!!

My baby is getting SO big! she is 6 months now... and 54 pounds... 48 more and she'll weigh as much as her momma... she is so good though, she is fully potty trained, sits on command, lays down, and we are in the process of learning to shake. She also LOVES going for walks.. she gets really excited when she sees her leash but we are working on controlling the excitement. I love getting to spend time with her... she is the best....

After we got back from an hour walk... notice her stuffed animal under her, she always sleeps with it... cute huh :)

St George and Vegas!!!

This is probably THE coolest dressing room i have ever been in... it was while i was trying on my true religions (pictured on the left) that i walked into this amazing place... we were at the fashion show mall in vegas.. platform, 3 mirrors, and chair!! i will have a platform in my future home...

The millers were in san diego and driving through st george the last night i was there so i got them hooked up with a hotel room at the marriott and we all went to dinner and then went swimming....

After eating our huge meal at good 'ol golden corrall... we squoze into our swimsuits and jumped off rocks, had a chicken fight (which by the way i won!!!) and just messed around like a bunch of kids in a pool.....

And yes, in case you were wondering... i still plug my nose... jason almost freaking drowned me because i can't breathe underwater without plugging my nose, i was trying to pull him over while he was doing a handstand and he drug me underwater, i was choking so bad and could not breathe.. pretty scary....

New Hair!!!!

Thanks to my AWESOME hair lady (aka one of my great friends since highschool...STEPHERZZZZ) we created a new masterpiece of the thing i call my hair... i had been growing it out for a few months (for those of you who don't remember, at this time last year the back of my hair was about 2 inches long....) but it was down to the bump on the back of my neck and driving me nuts... tried extensions for a couple of days but i couldn't handle it so we chopped the back (left the front how long it was) and got one of the best haircuts i have had in a long time... maybe next time, the color will change ;) stay tuned!!!

Michelle, Erin and i hadn't been out for awhile together so we went up to park city to one of the best restaurants known.... baja cantina (if you have never been up there go! and order the chicken flautas..mmmm...) we had a lot of fun just talking and reminiscing (big word!!!) we definitely will be doing it again... love you girls!

Since i am not married and have no children... you will come to realize that stella IS my baby...i take a lot of pictures of her... and being the mom that i am, i made the smart decision to get stella spayed... one because i don't want little stella's running around, two because i am NOT dealing with puppy periods... she did an awesome job with all the pre surgery work, during the surgery, and waking up after the surgery... when i went to pick her up she seemed like herself, happy and excited to see me, but when i got her home all she wanted to do was sleep (i don't blame her one bit.. i would want to do the same thing) she slept from about 5pm-9pm i woke her up to go to the bathroom and then she slept on my bed all through the night. she is such a good dog and i love her.. SO glad that i found her.

Ok, i am obsessed with this new craze called GLITTER TOES.... it's not nail polish, instead of acrylics they use the gel nails stuff and do it on your toes, dump a bunch of whatever color glitter you want on there and put it under the lamp to dry... they are awesome, don't ruin your nail beds, and last 4-6 weeks... cost about as much as a pedicure... i get mine done at SEASONS SALON down here in orem, but they are seriously the best new thing.... i hate pictures of feet though because they make them look all mangled and crap... the end

Stella has been lucky the past two weeks to have barb's dog taber to play with while we are at work...i actually got taber from wal-mart from some weirdo people.. i felt bad for the dogs so i got him and brought him to work... luckily for me, barb wanted him... he is so cute!!

i just wanted to make a comment real fast about "THE DARK KNIGHT"... probably one of THE coolest movies i have ever seen... every single actor was completely amazing... maggie gyllenhaal did an awesome take over for katie holmes (i don't really like katie anyway) GO SEE THIS MOVIE you will definitely not regret it... (getting to see it for free with work, free popcorn, drinks and candy didn't hurt either ha ha) oh and to heath ledger's ex michelle williams... she is dumb for wanting to boycot the movie, i understand that heath was darker in this movie than in a knight's tale, or 10 things i hate about you, but let's be honest if you don't want your 2 year old remembering him that way, dont take her to see it! that's all.

The following pictures of my house are from last october!!! i will post some new ones when i take them.. just wanted everyone to see the progres... the backyard pictures, however, are from the end of april....

So i did a major face lift on my house from what it looked like before... it's totally me now and i love coming home to it everyday... i still have a few things that i need and want to do to it but i will get there eventually...

The following pictures are of my disgusting backyard before it had REAL grass... the weeds were above my waist (not that that is incredibly tall or anything ha ha...) and the grass was completely dead... jason was nice enough to help me till and dig up everything and then lay my new sod...Stella wanted to help too... i cannot believe how tiny she looks in this picture and how much she has grown in 4 months... it's crazy!

The time and effort we put into everything paid off... it's nice to have somewhere to go outside in the summer and relax!!!

Stella was 12 weeks when we found her... she is a gorgeous white american bulldog with a tiny patch around her right eye, and a brown spot on her butt...she is one of the most loveable dogs ever, and has been extremely easy to train. The only major problem she has had so far is her love of socks... one night around 4am i woke up to hear her choking, she threw up, and me being the curious mother that i am put it outside to harden so i could see what she had gotten into. Lo and behold the next afternoon saw that it was one of my socks... crazy dog don't you know that those could hurt you?!?!?! She is now 5 months old and a grand 43.4 pounds.... if you're wondering how big she is going to get let me give you an idea... her mom, little missy, was 85 pounds... and her dad, cronk, was a whopping 130 pounds... the vet said she will be about 80-95 pounds... 10 pounds lighter than i am!! we shall see how this goes :)

I don't think mom was too excited that we had to fly home on her birthday.....

The ONE thing that i wanted to do the most on this trip was go swimming with the dolphins.. finally on the last day we got to do it! My parents had done it before so they let us kids do it alone. Normally there were six people to a group but everyone with the way the broke off into groups left us as extras so we had a dolphin to ourselves.. it was SO fun!!!

My brother's weren't nearly as excited

It was WELL worth getting up at the butt crack of dawn and venturing out to swim with the dolphins...

The Cenote

A cenote (pronounced sh-u-note) is defined as a deep natural well or sinkhole, esp. in Central America, formed by the collapse of surface limestone that exposes ground water underneath, and sometimes used by the ancient Mayans for sacrificial offerings. Part of our outing for the day was going to the cenote to swim in the underground cave... before going in we had to take a cleansing shower and then the shaman blessed us before entering

After repelling we split into 2's and kayaked over to where we had to start hiking to the cenote to go swimming... it was a nice way to cool off for sure

After repelling, we kept our gear on and hiked over to the point where we would be repelling from... i went first and was excited but a little nervous because the only thing we had to use as a brake was that wooden stick you see our guide holding, so we had to hold onto that with one hand and hold our wire with the other...

Taylor didn't listen closely enough to the guide (or he didn't CHOOSE to listen) and almost didn't stop in time.. it was pretty funny...
If you are wondering why dad is the last one out of our family it's mainly because we designated him the camera man....

After hiking to Coba, we took our bus over to the mayan village where we began the rest of our adventure for the day... we started off by repelling down a mountian, it was awesome.. a first for my mom and jake, but they both did it, mom did an awesome job!

To start off our "mayan experience" we went to an old mayan ruin called Cobá. it was really cool to see all the old buildings that were standing in the middle of a jungle, and amazing how hot it was... how hight the ruins were... and how hard they were to climb!

Built between two lakes during the Classic Period (600-900 A.D.) it was at one time a very large city spread over 80 square kilometers. On May 17 we arrived in the Cancun International Airport.. tired and adjusting to the humidity we slowly went through the line of "immigrants" and got through customs...we found out load of luggage, and hauled it out to find our van that would transport us to our hotel... the people who worked for the travel agency were extremely nice and helpful... we loaded ourselves in and got ready to depart through an unkown world to our 5 star hotel...

We were absolutlely amazed by the outside of our hotel, it was like a compound with 4 hotels on the property. We were to stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, but when we got there much to our surprise we were upgraded to junior suites at the Paraiso Maya. The people at the hotel were nice and we were excited to see our rooms...

I was lucky enough to be able to share a room with my lovely brothers... i will admit it was better than sharing with my parents!! But the early morning farts that went on and non flushing of the toilet, i could have done without..

When cyd and her family came this year for labor day i thought it would be a fun thing to get pictures of the cousins taken since our family is now complete with miss ava... i love the look of black shirts and jeans, cyd even found a little black shirt for ava online... we had matt christensen, who has done our family pictures a few times before (and is awesome, i am hiring to do my wedding when the time comes!), take them and had them done in grandma's arlene's backyard... the first picture with all of the cousins...
